Kołobrzeg is perfect for a weekend city break and for a longer spa stay. You can get here by direct train from Poznań, Wrocław, Warsaw, Katowice and Kraków.

Fast facts - Kołobrzeg by train

  • Station: Kołobrzeg railway station is the only long-distance station in the city.

  • Local transport: Public transport is based on buses. A single ticket costs a few zlotys, and in summer there are additional lines to the beach and around the sanatoriums.

  • Best time to go: Kołobrzeg combines a health resort, wide beaches and spa facilities, so it is worth visiting not only in summer.

  • How long to stay: For a weekend, plan the pier, the lighthouse, the cathedral and time on the beach. If you want to add a sanatorium or spa stay, plan 3-4 days.

  • Practical tip: In July and August, buy your tickets and accommodation in advance, as the choice dwindles quickly in high season.
