Kiev is the capital and the largest city of Ukraine located on the River Dnieper. Essential landmarks in the city are sacral ones. Among others, the XI century Orthodox Church - Saint Sophia's Cathedral that has been entered onto the world heritage UNESCO list or Pechersk Lavra – a large group of shrines, some them are in caves. Both landmarks are the Seven Ukrainian Wonders. While visiting the city one cannot skip one of the greatest museums in the country – the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War. In front of the building there is a 62-meter tall renowned sight – the Motherland statue. Every year, in Kiev many cultural events are organized.
