Routes and connections
Take a scenic journey with Italo. The routes operated by the carrier cover almost the entire Italian peninsula, creating a modern system of high-speed connections between Italy's most important economic and tourist centres. Trains run regularly between Milan, Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples, Turin, Bari, Verona, Bologna, Salerno and many other cities, connecting the north of the country with the south in a fast and comfortable way.
Most popular connections
The most popular connections include routes such as:
🚆 Milan - Rome,
🚆 Rome - Florence,
🚆 Milan - Venice,
🚆Turin - Bari,
🚆 Naples - Bologna.
These are among the most frequented by both tourists and business travellers. On many of them there are trainsets allowing the route between Milan and Rome to be covered in around three hours. For the southern regions, there are also direct services to Reggio Calabria, Foggia, Benevento or Barletta, providing a fast connection to the centre of the country without the need to change trains.
Smaller destinations on the route
The operator is constantly expanding its offer by introducing new routes in the regions of Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, Calabria, Campania, Lazio, Liguria, Piedmont, Puglia and Veneto. In this way, Italo's network is not only limited to the largest cities, but also reaches smaller towns and cities of major tourist and economic importance.
Wider reach through cooperation with maritime and land-based partners
Collaboration with maritime partners MSC, SNAV and GNV allows rail travel to be combined with ferry trips to destinations such as Capri, Ischia and Sicily, offering a comprehensive transport solution for visitors to Italy. This makes Italo not only a sign of modern high-speed rail, but also an integral part of the national mobility system.
