Create your own story
Interrail's motto is 'Create your own story' and indeed the offer has been composed to suit everyone's needs:
Interrail Global Pass (30 countries)
The Interrail Global Pass is valid in 30 countries such as: : Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Macedonia (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia), Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Montenegro, Czech Republic, Republic of Ireland (and Northern Ireland), Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Serbia, Turkey, United Kingdom.
Travellers can choose a flexi ticket, allowing them to select specific days of travel, within the validity period:
- 5 days for journeys to be used within 15 days
- 7 days for journeys within one month
- 10 days for journeys within one month
- 15 days for monthly trips
The days of travel (day and month) must be marked in pen on the ticket.
The second option is a continuous ticket - allowing unlimited journeys over:
- 15 days
- 22 days
- 1 month
With a continuous ticket, there is no need to indicate the days, as you can travel for the entire period for which the ticket has been purchased.
An Interrail Global Pass may be used in the country of residence of the Pass holder. In Poland, an Interrail Pass entitles the holder to travel for free by train to an airport, port or border and back, i.e. two journeys. With an Interrail Global Pass, the traveller receives a map of train connections in Europe and a guidebook, and the whole continent is open to further travel!
Interrail One Country Pass
The One Country Pass entitles the traveller to travel in one country of his or her choice. The traveller can purchase a flexi-ticket for 3, 4, 6 or 8 days of travel, to be used within one month. The ticket, unlike the continuous ticket, does not allow free transport to the starting point of the journey in the ticket holder's country of residence. The price of the ticket depends on the country chosen and the number of journeys.
Validity of an Interrail Pass
An Interrail Pass is valid for the entire period of validity written on the ticket. The first journey can begin at 00:00 on the day indicated on the Ticket, and the last journey should end by midnight (24:00) on the last day of validity indicated on the Ticket.
Use of an Interrail Pass
The Interrail Pass consists of two parts - the ticket and a special compulsory cover. Both parts are necessary when checking the ticket. The Interrail is a named ticket. The front cover must be completed with the traveller's personal details, such as name, age range, address and e-mail. The ticket must be presented with an identification document, such as an identity card or passport, every time it is checked. The back cover is the so-called Travel Diary. Before travelling by train, bus or ferry, you must add the details of this journey in the Travel Diary. Without this information, the ticket is not valid. It is worth bearing this in mind, as fines for incorrectly completed or not completed tickets can be up to €200. Fortunately, each ticket comes with an instruction sheet which explains how to fill in the ticket.
The Interrail Pass may be used by citizens of European Union member states and citizens of countries such as Albania, Andorra, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (Macedonia), Montenegro, Gibraltar, Iceland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Norway, the Russian Federation, San Marino, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and the Vatican City.
Non-citizens of the EU or the above countries can travel with a Eurail Pass in 28 European countries, including Turkey. They can choose between the Eurail Global Pass, the Eurail Select Pass valid in 2 to 4 neighbouring countries and the One Country Pass.
Booking and purchasing an Interrail Pass
In Poland, the purchase of an Interrail Pass is possible a maximum of 60 days before the first day on which the pass is valid. When planning your journey, please note that the pre-sale deadlines may be shortened in special cases. You can keep this information up to date at www.polishtrains.eu, where you can also purchase your ticket by calling customer service on 12 352 36 58, open Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Another important point is the need to book. It is required by most international carriers, when travelling on overnight trains and on high-speed trains. The booking requirement allows carriers to provide travellers with more comfort, such as extra legroom and free WiFi. In some cases, travellers with a reservation can enjoy free meals, drinks and newspapers. The need to book a particular train can be checked by calling our customer service. When planning your journey, it is worth bearing in mind that the price of a reservation is variable and the earlier you book, the lower it will be.
As you can see, there is no need to procrastinate, so don't waste any more time - buy your Interrail ticket now!
