Preceding change of PKP timetable

The previous change, the summer timetable, was effective from 15 June 2025 and will be valid until the end of 30 August 2025. It was introduced to cater for increased travel during the holiday season, allowing popular holiday destinations to be served and adapting the transport offer to accommodate increased tourist traffic.

What changes are coming to the autumn train timetable?

PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., in cooperation with the carriers, has prepared the timetable in such a way as to make full use of the potential of the existing railway infrastructure, while at the same time creating appropriate conditions for contractors to continue modernisation works. These projects are aimed at increasing the comfort of travel, improving the accessibility of rail transport and increasing the level of safety on the railway network. What changes are introduced by the new PKP timetable for autumn?

More connections for passengers

The new timetable adjustment will bring additional courses on the most popular routes.

  • This will mainly benefit the residents of Łódź and Białystok. The IC Lazur train between Gdynia and Łódź will run daily, instead of only on selected days.

  • Daily journeys will also be provided by IC Zamenhof on the Białystok - Warszawa Zachodnia route.

  • The completed modernisation works have also allowed the restoration of the full routes from Hrubieszów of trains: IC Hetman, IC Kasztelan and IC Górski.

Express to Szczecin and Łódź

  • In September, a faster Pendolino service will appear on the Warsaw Central - Szczecin Główny route. The train will cover this route in a record time of 4 hours and 12 minutes.

  • The excellent journey times of the sprinters IC Esperanto and IC Prząśniczka will also remain unchanged - both trains will still take passengers from Warsaw Central to Łódź Fabryczna in just 65 minutes.

Autumn holiday extension

September is the perfect time for a quiet holiday - after the summer season, resorts become quieter and PKP Intercity offers extended courses of seasonal trains.

  • IC Gałczyński from Warsaw and IC Merkury from Wrocław will travel to Świnoujście until 5 October.

  • The seasonal EIC Jantar to Hel will be available until 28 September on Saturdays and Sundays. In turn, Express Intercity Warsaw - Gdynia will run on September Fridays and Saturdays - with the last return trip on 27 September.

  • Thanks to the IC Hańcza train (Kraków - Mockava), passengers still have a comfortable connection to Giżycko, where one of the trains goes.

  • From 31 August, the IC Malinowski will run daily on the Kraków - Krynica-Zdrój route. IC Orzeszkowa and IC Karkonosze trains will also be extended to Szklarska Poręba.

Kraków - Bielsko-Biała faster than before

Four new train services between Cracow and Bielsko-Biała will start on 1 October.

  • The trains will stop, among others, at Czechowice-Dziedzice, Oświęcim and Chrzanów Śródmieście. The fastest course will cover the route in just 74 minutes, significantly shortening the travel time between the capital of Małopolska and Podbeskidzie.

  • Also from October, a new connection will appear in the timetable - IC Pojezierze between Olsztyn and Poznań.

Adjustments to the timetable due to the modernisation of tracks

Due to the ongoing modernisation and maintenance works on selected sections of the railway lines, some PKP Intercity trains will run on detours or with extended journey times. Below is detailed information on the planned changes and their timing.

On this section, all trains will have extended journey times. This is due to modernisation works and a break in traffic on the Lębork - Słupsk section, where a substitute bus service (ZKA) has been introduced, as well as additional track works on the Elbląg - Malbork section.

Modernisation works are continuing on this line. As a result, trains IC Sukiennice (Kraków - Szczecin - Kraków), IC Kazimierz (Bydgoszcz - Kraków - Bydgoszcz) and TLK Marszałek Piłsudski (Kraków - Warsaw - Kraków) will take a diversion via Trzebinia and Zawiercie.

  • 15-26 September: Stróże - Jasło (line no. 108)

During this time, Wetlina and Bieszczady (Kraków - Zagórz - Kraków) trains will take a detour on the Tarnów - Jasło section via Dębica, Rzeszów and Strzyżów nad Wisłokem. A substitute bus service will be launched on the Tarnów - Jasło section.

There will be a break in traffic on this section. All Warsaw-Wrocław trains via Opole (except for the cancelled EIP) and Lublin/Kielce-Wrocław trains will be rerouted via circular routes. EIC Sleza and Panorama trains will travel via Poznań, maintaining their attractive journey times, while IC trains will extend their journey times by approximately 40-60 minutes.

  • Katowice interchange

Due to the ongoing modernisation works, some trains will run on circular routes and some on shortened routes.

Until when does the autumn train timetable apply?

The autumn train timetable will be in force from 31 August 2025 up to and including 14 December 2025. The following day, 15 December 2025, the so-called winter timetable adjustment will come into force. This change is planned with a view to adapting the transport offer to the peculiarities of the Christmas and New Year period, when the number of family trips, trips for holidays and to popular tourist destinations increases.

The new timetable and routes will include, among other things, additional connections to mountain resorts, possible reinforcement of trainsets on routes with high occupancy and possible changes due to winter weather conditions and ongoing modernisation works. The winter timetable will remain in place until the March adjustment in 2026, when the route network will be adjusted for the spring transport season.
