IC 6850 Merkury train – route and timetable
IC 6850 Merkury is an InterCity train running from Wrocław Główny to Świnoujście, operated by PKP Intercity. The route has 18 stops, including Rawicz, Poznań Główny, Krzyż, Stargard and Szczecin Dąbie, and the entire journey takes more than five hours.
Merkury connects Lower Silesia with the coast, making it suitable both for passengers travelling on business to Poznań and for those going to the seaside for a holiday. The departure times from Wrocław Główny are easiest to check in the PolishTrains search engine, which shows the current timetable.
The ticket price on this route starts at several dozen zloty, but the final amount depends on the selected seat category and purchase date - PolRegio is the cheapest, while Express InterCity is the most expensive, so the difference between them can be several times over. Among passengers departing from Wrocław Główny, most tickets are bought just before travelling, within the 1-3 days before departure. Some people reserve a seat two to four weeks in advance. August is the peak sales period from Wrocław Główny station, which corresponds to the season for trips to the seaside.
The travel standard results from the IC category - it is a more comfortable train than regional PolRegio, but without the higher level of comfort of Express InterCity. If you are planning a return journey, you can buy the return ticket together with the single ticket on PolishTrains, without having to create an account. If you change trains for the further part of the seaside route, you can check the next section via PolishTrains and immediately see the waiting time between trains.
