  • On PolishTrains - in the POLREGIO connections search engine, without creating an account; the ticket is sent by e-mail and SMS

  • Online from the carrier - on bilety.polregio.pl or in the mPOLREGIO app

  • At a ticket office - at the station, traditionally

  • At a ticket machine - available at many stations in Poland

People with disabilities, people over 70 years of age, carers of people with disabilities, pregnant women and people travelling with children under 4 are exempt from the requirement to report to the conductor before taking their seat. Animals in carriers travel on REGIO trains free of charge, and you can check the details of transporting them in the POLREGIO connections search engine on PolishTrains. year of age, carers of people with disabilities, pregnant women and people with children under 4 years of age.

How do you fill in a personalised ticket? When buying a paper ticket, enter your first name, surname and the number of a photo ID legibly and permanently - before boarding the first train. The POLREGIO weekend tourist ticket is an offer for those who want to travel without limits. A single ticket allows you to make unlimited journeys from 6:00 pm on the day before a weekend or holiday until 6:00 am on the first working day afterwards, so you can freely change trains, change direction and discover new places at your own pace. What's more, the offer also includes selected foreign sections leading to the Czech Republic and Germany, so a spontaneous weekend can turn into a short trip abroad. The ticket is personal - you must write your name on it and, in the event of a check, have your identity document or the mCitizen app with you.

How do I buy a POLREGIO weekend ticket?

The POLREGIO weekend ticket can be purchased online**(on the carrier's website**), at a ticket office or - in exceptional cases - from the conductor, provided you report the lack of a ticket immediately after boarding the train. At many locations, it is also possible to use a ticket machine, which allows the ticket to be purchased quickly and efficiently before departure. This allows each traveller to choose the form of purchase that suits his or her travel style.

How much does a POLREGIO weekend ticket cost?

After buying online, the ticket is sent by e-mail and SMS, and 30 minutes before departure you receive a reminder with a link to the ticket - no searching through your inbox. You can check the refund and exchange rules on the PolishTrains help page. The price of a weekend ticket under the Tourist Ticket offer is fixed and does not depend on the number of journeys or kilometres travelled - you pay once and travel unlimited for the entire weekend.

There are two options to choose from:

  • Tourist Ticket - PLN 59.00,
  • Mini tourist ticket - PLN 49.00.

This is one of the best-priced weekend offers on the Polish railway. For less than the cost of standard travel on a longer route, you can cover hundreds of kilometres and change trains as many times as you like. In practice, this means complete freedom of planning: you can start your journey on Friday evening, spend Saturday in the mountains, Sunday at the lake and return before Monday morning - all the time on one ticket.

An additional advantage is that the weekend ticket is also honoured by some other carriers cooperating with POLREGIO. With a tourist ticket, you can also use the services of such companies as: ARRIVA RP, Koleje Wielkopolskie, Koleje Małopolskie - with the exception of the section Kraków Olszanica - Kraków Lotnisko - Kraków Olszanica, Łódzkie Koleje Aglomeracyjne with the exception of trains of the ŁKA SPRINTER category. However, the mini tourist ticket entitles to travel on REGIO trains only.

Is it possible to return a POLREGIO tourist ticket?

The POLREGIO tourist ticket is refundable, but only under certain conditions. The procedure is as follows:

  1. Unused ticket before the start of validity - return it at a POLREGIO ticket office or check-in point without certification
  2. Partly used ticket - requires certification by a check-in point or the conductor on the train
  3. Deduction - POLREGIO deducts a 10% cancellation fee from the refunded amount
  4. Exception - if the train was cancelled or serious disruptions occurred through POLREGIO’s fault, the cancellation fee is not charged

A refund through PolishTrains is possible online, but it may involve an additional service fee on top of the carrier’s 10% fee. If the traveller decides to cancel the journey, he/she may return a fully or partially unused ticket, provided he/she does so** before the expiry of the second hour of its validity** at the latest. In such a case, the carrier will refund the amount paid, charging a 10% surcharge. However, there is an important exception: *ifthe ticket has not been used for reasons on POLREGIO's side, e.g. due to train cancellations or serious obstructions making travel impossible - the deposit is not charged.* In this way, travellerscan be sure that they will not incur additional costs in situations beyond their control.
