If someone really cares about time and comfort, they can take advantage of the superfast trains that operate between major cities. They reach speeds of up to 300 km/h. The infrastructure and technology will allow them to reach up to 400 km/h in the future. The types of high-speed trains are Frecciarossa, Frecciabianca and Frecciargento. Frecciargento trains

Frecciargento are trains that reach speeds of up to 250 km/h. They run from Venice and Verona to Rome, Naples, Bari and Reggio di Calabria. They are trains that run on shorter routes than the Frecciarossa trains. The journey is made on both high-speed trains and traditional trains. Each of the Frecciargento trains has air conditioning and power sockets. There is a toilet in every carriage (two in 1st class carriages). On the Rome-Venice routes, the trainsets are equipped with LCD touch screens that keep the passenger up to date with the most important information on offers and services. There are also monitors displaying travel information, news or films. There is also a light at each seat. Just as importantly, space is available on the train for large luggage in the vestibules of the carriages.

Each day, travellers can start their tour from among 58 comfortable and fast connections, including:

• one train leaves every hour, between 6:00 and 19:00 every day, connecting Rome and Venice, from where you can continue your trip, for example to Udine, Trieste, Naples or Salerno
• s4 trains run between Rome and Verona every hour during peak hours, from where you can continue your trip to Brescia, Trento or Bolzano
• 6 trains connect Rome with Lecce, and 2 run from Rome to Reggio di Calabria, stopping in the main towns of Puglia and Calabria
