European Sleeper - overnight calls across Europe
The European Sleeper offers four levels of comfort, which vary in compartment layout, equipment and range of services. As a result, both travellers seeking luxury and those who value simplicity and economy will find a solution to suit their needs.
Comfort Plus
This is the most comfortable class on European Sleeper trains. Compartments are spacious and designed for up to 3 people, guaranteeing privacy and tranquillity. Passengers will enjoy full-size beds with bedding, pillow and blanket, a welcome pack and breakfast included in the ticket price. A washbasin, electrical socket and lockable door are also available in the compartment . This is an ideal choice for business travellers or those looking to start the day fully rested.
Comfort Standard
The Comfort Standard class provides a similar level of comfort, but in a slightly simpler format. The compartments are designed for up to three people. They feature foldaway beds with a set of bed linen, while the bathroom is located in the corridor. The ticket price includes breakfast, and during the day the compartment can be used as a comfortable seating area. This is a good compromise between comfort and price - especially for couples and small groups.
Classic
This is the most popular option in the European Sleeper range. The five-person compartments can be ordered as shared (for individual passengers) or private (for groups). If you are travelling with a bicycle, use the Bike & Rail service – transport of a bicycle for an additional fee (approximately around PLN 19; check the current price when booking). The number of spaces for bicycles is limited, so it is worth reserving a space in advance. You can add a bicycle-space reservation to your ticket during the purchase process in the PolishTrains search engine.
The detailed luggage rules depend on the carrier – check the current information on the PolishTrains help page. Each passenger receives bedding, a blanket and pillow, and can additionally purchase breakfast when ordering or from the steward on board.
Budget
The simplest and cheapest option designed for travellers who want to make an overnight journey economically. This class features comfortable seats instead of beds, and passengers have access to power sockets, Wi-Fi and luggage space. While it does not offer bed and breakfast included in the price, it still allows you to travel comfortably across Europe at a low price.
Supported routes
European Sleeper operates one of the most scenic overnight routes in Europe, connecting Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin and Prague. It is a unique connection that allows travellers to travel between four European capitals in comfort and environmental friendliness. The train runs several times a week, providing convenient access to the heart of Central Europe without the need for transfers or overnight stops along the way.
Brussels - Prague route
Train ES 453 starts its journey at 19:22 at Bruxelles-Midi station, then stops in Antwerp, Roosendaal, Rotterdam, The Hague, Amsterdam, Amersfoort and Deventer before crossing the German-Dutch border. At 06:30 it arrives in Berlin and a few hours later in Dresden (08:54). The final stop is Prague Main (11:55) the following day. The entire route takes approximately 16.5 hours, allowing passengers to comfortably spend the night on board to start the day in a new city in the morning.
Prague - Brussels route
The westbound ES 452 train departs Prague at 18:02 and stops at Dresden, Berlin, Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam, among others. The Midi arrives in Brussels at 10:39am the following day.
Travel comfort and benefits
With this planned route, the European Sleeper connects three strategic regions - Benelux, Germany and Central Europe. Overnight journeys save time and money on overnight stays, and modern carriages with luggage space and the possibility of carrying bicycles (Bike & Rail service) make the journey not only comfortable but also environmentally friendly. Carrying a bicycle costs €19 and each European Sleeper train offers up to 26 places for unicycles.
The European Sleeper night trains are becoming a symbol of modern, sustainable tourism across Europe - instead of spending hours in airports, travellers can fall asleep in one country and wake up in the next in peace. In the coming years, the operator plans to expand its route network to other attractive destinations, including Milan and Barcelona, further strengthening its position in the European sleeper train market.
