Karpaty train – routes and services
Karpaty are TLK-category trains running on the Kraków Główny - Krynica-Zdrój and Zakopane - Gdynia Główna routes. Four services run daily in each direction on both routes, providing regular connections to the mountains and the seaside.
The Zakopane - Gdynia Główna route connects two popular holiday destinations, so Karpaty are often chosen by people travelling on holiday with luggage, rather than only for business trips. You can buy a ticket for Karpaty and, if your plans change, exchange it online via PolishTrains without visiting a ticket office.
The price of a ticket for Karpaty depends on the selected seating category – travelling in the IC Intercity category is the cheapest option, while EIP Pendolino is the most expensive. TLK trains offer second-class carriages, and you can check the equipment details in the PolishTrains search engine before selecting a particular service.
From Kraków Główny station, most passengers buy tickets literally at the last minute, between a week and three days before departure. A large proportion plan their journey two to four weeks in advance. August is the month when ticket sales from Kraków Główny station increase noticeably. If you are travelling with a dog in a carrier, you can check the rules for transporting animals on PolishTrains before buying your ticket.
