IC 51110 Biebrza train – route and timetable
IC Biebrza is a PKP Intercity train running from Gdynia Główna to Białystok, covering the entire route in over five hours. The train stops at, among other places, Sopot, Gdańsk Główny, Elbląg, Olsztyn Zachodni and Kętrzyn, connecting the coast with Warmia, Masuria and Podlasie. It is one of the few direct rail connections linking these regions without the need to change trains.
The route is suitable for people travelling from the Tricity into Warmia and Masuria and onwards to Podlasie – thanks to the direct journey, there is no need to plan changes in Olsztyn or Ełk. It is also a convenient option for travellers with luggage or a bicycle, for whom every change is an additional difficulty.
IC Biebrza is an InterCity category train, and is therefore cheaper than EIP Pendolino. It is slower than the latter – the price difference between these categories can be several times greater. You can check the current price ranges for this route and the difference between the categories in the PolishTrains search engine.
From Gdynia station, tickets for long-distance trains are most often bought 1-3 days before departure. A considerable proportion of passengers reserve a seat two to four weeks in advance. August is the month in which ticket sales from Gdynia station clearly increase, so before travelling it is worth checking for any timetable changes on this route on PolishTrains, especially as long-distance services are sometimes adjusted seasonally.
From Gdynia station, almost one in three passengers chooses the faster Pendolino EIP instead of IC – you can compare both travel options on PolishTrains.
