PKP station Chojnice

Chojnice railway station is one of the most important transport hubs in Pomerania. It is located on Dworcowa Street in the south-eastern part of the city. The station has operated continuously since 1873 and over more than 150 years has gained the status of a strategic point on Poland's railway map.

In Chojnice, the station connects five railway lines: towards Tczew, Działdowo, Runów Pomorski, Kościerzyna and Oleśnica. The station handles daily connections to Trójmiasto, Bydgoszcz, Szczecinek, Piła and Gorzów Wielkopolski, and in summer also to Hel.

In February 2024, a major renovation of the facility was completed, through which PKP Chojnice station regained its former splendour and was adapted to the needs of modern passengers (including those with disabilities). The PLN 24 million investment included the creation of a modern, spacious waiting room, new ticket offices, toilets, a PolRegio video machine, lifts and passages for people with reduced mobility.

The station has five platforms connected by an underground passage, and in its vicinity there is MZK Chojnice public transport, facilitating quick access to the city centre and other districts.

You can reach PKP Chojnice station in several convenient ways. If you are in the city centre, a short walk is a good option – it will take you about 21 minutes – this is 1.5 km along Józefa Piłsudskiego Street. You can also get there by taxi or car.

When choosing the direction: Chojnice PKP station, you can also use public transport.

• Bus line no. 1 runs on the route from Swornegacie stop to Towarowa/Dworzec PKP/PKS.

• Bus line no. 8 runs in the direction of Galeria Brama Pomorza or towards Wojska Polskiego and stops near the station.

• Bus line no. 4 runs in the direction of Kłodawa-Pętla or Zakładowa-Pętla and stops near the station.

Chojnice railway station is accessible to passengers daily from 04:00 to 23:00. You can use the facility conveniently, whether you are planning an early morning commute to work or a trip out of town in the late evening.

The station is managed by Chojnice City Municipality. For matters related exclusively to the station building you can call: (52) 397-18-00 ext. 85. Currently there is no available telephone number for ticket offices.

At PKP Chojnice station, the ticket office is run by PolRegio, but you can purchase tickets for journeys with other carriers there.

PKP Chojnice ticket office opening hours:

• on weekdays: 07:00 – 15:00 (with a break from 12:00 to 12:15),

• on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays the ticket office is closed.

An additional convenience for passengers is the PolRegio Video Machine – a modern device that allows quick ticket purchase with the help of an e-cashier. This solution combines the convenience of a ticket machine with the option of using live assistance if you have questions or difficulties. Chojnice railway station has free parking, which can be used by passengers and people dropping off or picking up travellers. It is located directly in front of the building exit.

Importantly, when preparing PKP Chojnice parking, the needs of all travellers were taken into account. Dedicated spaces have been allocated for people with disabilities.

• Stary Rynek – it is possible to walk to the beautiful market square with its neo-Gothic Town Hall surrounded by tenement buildings in about 20 minutes from Chojnice PKP station. It is worth seeing the large fountain standing in the middle – perfect background for photos!

• Museum of History and Ethnography – approximately 25 minutes' walk from the station (located at Podmurna Street 11). Worth visiting especially for lovers of culture and history. You can admire, among others, collections of Kashubian embroidery here.

• Experimentarium – an interesting attraction worth visiting. It is less than a quarter of an hour away from Chojnice railway station. The exhibition is devoted to the coexistence of man with nature and the history of the city's development.
