We start our journey at the station📍SzczecinGłówny, one of the oldest in Poland. The station was opened in 1843, when the city was part of Prussia. From there, we set off to see the first attraction on our tourist trail: 📍Szczecin**'s** Boulevards ⤵️

A popular walking area along the Oder waterfront, ideal for relaxation, with numerous cafés, restaurants and bars. The boulevards offer beautiful views of the harbour, ships and the city skyline, and are also the venue for many cultural and recreational events such as festivals and open-air concerts. It is the tallest church in Szczecin, with an impressive height of 110 metres, and its history dates back to the 13th century. In the basement of the cathedral is a crypt with the graves of former clergymen and people associated with the history of the city. The seat of the House of Griffins, rulers of the Duchy of Pomerania, is the historic heart of Szczecin, dating back to the 13th century. Today, the place has a cultural function, hosting numerous exhibitions and concerts. Legend has it that one of the rulers, Prince Philip II, searched intensively for the philosopher's stone and alchemy was practised in the castle. A modern building with a distinctive shape, resembling an iceberg. It is one of Szczecin's most recognisable contemporary architectural icons. In 2015, the building won the prestigious Mies van der Rohe Award. The illuminated façade makes the place look downright magical at night. Now we head towards the famous 📍WałyChrobrego⤵️

A charming observation deck on the Oder, offering impressive views of the river and harbour. One of the most important symbols of the city. The site was designed in 1902 and was originally called "Haken's Terrace". Hidden under the ramparts are old bunkers and shelters from the Second World War. Although most of them are closed to the public, legends say that some corridors lead all the way up to the Oder. Now we're off to 📍PlaceGrunwaldzkiego⤵️

One of the central points of Szczecin, with a characteristic radial street layout. It is a popular tourist attraction in Szczecin and a meeting place for residents. The square hides former wartime bunkers underground. Admittedly, they are not currently accessible, but there are plans to convert some of them into tourist underground routes in the future. Then we head towards the last point of our tour 📍 Gate Portowej⤵️

Built in the early 18th century , it was part of the city's defensive fortification system. Only two of them have survived to this day: Portowa and Królewska. As with many other monuments in Szczecin, during construction tunnels were discovered underneath it, connecting different parts of the city. Not far from the Gate is an interesting sundial, which attracts attention with its modern, minimalist form. From here, we return in the direction of 📍SzczecinGłówny railway station**.**

By train, of course! Fast connections to Szczecin from many cities in Poland and the central location of Szczecin railway station make the train an excellent travel option. Trains to Szczecin run from most large and medium-sized cities in Poland. The easiest connections to find are: Poznań-Szczecin, Warsaw-Szczecin, Wrocław-Szczecin. An Intercity train between Poznań and Szczecin takes just over 2 hours, while an Express Intercity train between Warsaw and Szczecin takes 4.5 hours.
