Eurostar Paris - London timetable
Gare du Nord, or North Station, is where Eurostar trains leave Paris. It is one of the six main stations in Paris. It is used by around 180 million passengers a year, making it one of the largest stations in the world in terms of travellers checked in, but rest assured:
thanks to this guide, you definitely won't get lost!
- Enter the spacious hall of the Gare du Nord station and head to the international departures section, where the Eurostar zone is located. The Eurostar train departs from a separate platform 3-6 where people without a valid travel ticket are not allowed to board. So it is worth making sure we have them with us, if we don't we can print them out from the vending machines at the station. You will need your voucher, booking number and the credit card you used to pay for the ticket.
- We then proceed to the check-in area . Check-in is similar to that at the airport, but much quicker and more efficient. First your luggage is scanned, then you go through the security gates and finally passport/ID card control takes place. You need to be at least 30 minutes before the train departs in order to complete the entire process. 30 minutes before departure (1st and 2nd class).
- After check-in, travellers wait in the comfortable Eurostar departure lounge to be informed which platform the train will depart from. There are also shops, cafés and free wi-fi.
- It takes no more than a minute to get to theplatform by escalator, directly from the waiting room. All that remains is to find the right carriage number and... It's time to relax!
