By train in Switzerland
A train journey provides an extraordinary journey through the most beautiful regions of Switzerland. From the tradition-rich central Switzerland to the picturesque Lake Geneva. It connects historic Lucerne and then Interlaken, with snow-capped peaks in the Jungfrau regions and sunny Montreux on Lake Geneva. The GoldenPass Line Express circles eight lakes, six cantons, three mountain passes and two language regions.
The train for luxury
The Golden Pass Panoramic is a modern train made up of first and second class panoramic carriages, connecting Lucerne and Interlaken. The Golden Pass Classic, on the other hand, is a very popular train made up of carriages modelled on those that ran in the 1930s. It is regarded as one of Europe's most luxurious trains. While on board the panoramic Golden Pass Express, passengers can enjoy the views through the high panoramic windows and, using the seats marked VIP, have a view from the driver's perspective. It is the only train line in Switzerland to offer such seats.
Leaving Montreux, the train rises above Lake Geneva, allowing you to enjoy the wonderful landscape and the beauty of the lake. At Jaman, the train enters a tunnel. It then traverses the valleys and heads to the famous resorts of Châteaux d'Oex and Gstaad. The GoldenPass Express reaches its climax at 1,274 metres above sea level and stops in Zweisimmen, from where the traveller can continue with the GoldenPass Panoramic towards Interlaken and Lucerne.
The GoldenPass train ride is a spectacular journey on panoramic trains travelling from central to western Switzerland. It guarantees travellers a unique experience and the opportunity to admire the magnificent landscape.
