  • Town Hall - one of the oldest buildings in the city, built in the 15th century. From the very beginning it served an administrative function as the seat of the municipal authorities. Its characteristic element is the slender clock tower, which catches the attention of tourists from afar.

  • The Bacchus Monument - a symbolic element of the city, associated with its wine tradition. The monument depicts Bacchus, the Roman god of wine and harvest, sitting on a wine barrel. It was made by two Cracow sculptors in 2010.

  • The Laziebna Tower - also known as the Hunger Tower, is a remnant of the old city walls dating back to the 15th century. This tower, built on a rectangular plan, measures almost 35 metres, so it is certainly not to be missed!

Lubusz Land Museum

The history of this place dates back to 1922, when it was a Heimatmuseum - i.e. a small local museum presenting the history and culture of the region. Initially, it was housed in a Lutheran chapel, but over time the location was changed. After many reconstructions and changes, the present main building of the museum is located at 15 Niepodległości Avenue.

The collection of the Museum of Lubuska Land contains more than 17,000 exhibits, including ancient art, contemporary art, historical art and wine-related items. In addition, the facility offers both permanent and temporary exhibitions.

  • Wine Museum - presenting the interesting history of grape growing in the region. The first records of which can be heard date back as far as the 13th century. On display are wine-making tools from various eras, as well as a collection of bottles from local vineyards.

Part of the exhibition tells the story of the witch trials. The Palm House

  • A visit to a winery - this is a must-see during an adult tour. Many wineries offer tours combined with tastings, so you can both learn a little more about wine and taste the flavours of the region. It is also worth going to the best-preserved wine house, which is located in the Wine Park, within the grounds of the Palmiarnia. This is a unique building, although back in the 19th century there were several hundred such cottages in the city. Vineyards worth a visit:

  • Winnica Julia - located in Zielona Góra on the Stary Kisielin estate, just 5 km from the city centre. It is a place established just over 20 years ago, surrounded by forests. Over 1,300 vines of red (e.g. Pinot Noir) and white (e.g. Solaris) varieties grow here. An additional attraction is located on the vineyard grounds - the Miniature Park of Historic Winery Sites. Tours and tastings are payable and possible only by telephone appointment.

  • Miłosz Winery - located in the town of Łaz, approx. 14 km from Zielona Góra. It is a vineyard established in 2004 with 5 hectares of vineyards. Paid tasting demonstrations are organised on site, after prior contact with the facility. An interesting attraction is that the tasting itself takes place in an 18th-century wine cellar.

  • Saint Vincent Vineyard - an attraction a little further away from Zielona Góra, located in the village of Borów Wielki, about 46 km outside the city. It is a unique vineyard because, although Polish, it was founded by a Frenchman. This has resulted in unique wine recipes of the highest quality, combining the wine tradition of the region with a hint of French climate. The vineyard was established in 2009 and the vines themselves cover as much as 10.5 hectares. As in previous venues, tastings are available for a fee after prior telephone contact.

  • Evening relaxation in the Palmiarnia - the restaurant located in the facility is open until 22:00, so you can admire the tropical vegetation even after dark. On the menu of the restaurant, in addition to delicious dishes, you can taste wines from local wineries, all in an interesting setting of plants and with a panoramic view of the city (thanks to a glass structure).
