According to the timetable announced by the Ministry of National Education, winter holidays in the Pomeranian Voivodeship in 2026 will take place from 19 January to 1 February. This is the last holiday turn in the country. In addition, many children and young people from the region are likely to travel to other parts of Poland. This is therefore the perfect time to explore Pomerania on your own - fewer tourists, peace and quiet and less traffic will allow you to fully enjoy your holiday.
Winter holidays in the Pomeranian Voivodeship 2026 - attractions
The Pomeranian Voivodeship offers many possibilities for spending your free time during the winter holidays. You can opt for a stay in the bustling Tricity, a quiet trip to the picturesque Kashubia region or an active holiday in the Słowiński National Park area. In addition, the winter weather is conducive to walks on coastal beaches, and numerous hiking trails encourage you to discover the beauty of nature.
Tri-City
If you're spending your 2026 holidays in Pomerania, be sure to head to the Tricity - or Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia. This is the most recognisable area of the region, offering countless attractions all year round. Each of these towns and cities has its own unique character and much to offer tourists of all ages.
It is worth starting your sightseeing tour in Gdańsk, specifically in the Old Town, where you can admire the characteristic tenement houses and the impressive Crane - a symbol of the city. History buffs will appreciate the exhibitions at the European Solidarity Centre and the World War II Museum. We also suggest a trip to Westerplatte - the historical place where World War II began.
Gdańsk
For families with children, a visit to the Gdańsk Hevelianum Centre - a science and entertainment park located in historic fortifications - will be ideal. During the Pomeranian holidays, special workshops, shows and activities will be organised here. Attractions are aimed at various age groups, and most can be attended by children as young as 3 years old. The cost of admission starts at 15 PLN/person (depending on the event). Detailed information and the schedule are available on the Hewelianum Centre website. In addition, the venue will also be open for those interested in permanent exhibitions. During the holidays, the venue will be open daily from 10:00 to 17:00.
Sopot
Known as a seaside resort, Sopot attracts tourists above all with its longest wooden pier in Europe. A walk along this impressive structure is a must for any visit to the area. Sopot is also famous for its lively Bohaterów Monte Cassino street, full of cafes, restaurants and shops. During this year's holidays, special events are also being organised in Sopot, including:
Sopot Forest Opera - free guided walks every Thursday, a chance to learn about the history of the venue and how it works from the backstage.
Gdynia
Gdynia, the youngest of the three cities, impresses with its modern architecture and maritime atmosphere. We recommend visiting the Experyment Science Centre, offering interactive exhibitions for the whole family.
This facility will host special shows, workshops and exhibitions called "Experyment holidays" from 15.01 to 27.02.2026. This is a series of meetings aimed at children over the age of 6 and takes place at weekends. Individual classes last one hour and cost PLN 20/person.
Between 30 January and 9 February, the Museum of the City of Gdynia offers a series of creative classes, including sculpture and sewing workshops. The cost of participation in a single meeting is 15 PLN per child, and a carer attends free of charge. It is worth remembering, however, that the number of places is very limited, so it is recommended to book early.
Another interesting attraction is the Gdynia Aquarium, where you can admire sea creatures from all over the world. It is also worth visiting Kościuszko Square and seeing the museum ships moored at the quay - the destroyer ORP "Błyskawica" and the sailing ship "Dar Pomorza". The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission costs PLN 28 (concessionary ticket) and PLN 40 (regular ticket). Visitors may also take advantage of the family ticket offer, where the entrance fee for 2 adults + 1 child is 100 zlotys, and the entrance fee for each additional child is 20 zlotys.
