PKP timetable changes - which connections will be modified?

Shorter connection times:

The best news that the revision of the PKP timetable brings is a reduction in the time of some connections. Passengers will be able to save extra minutes on the routes:

Warsaw - Wrocław

From Warsaw Central Station to Wrocław Główny - from 8 April, travel time will be shortened to approximately 3 hours and 29 minutes. A modern EIP 1604 (Pendolino) train will travel the route in this time.

Warsaw - Łódź

From Warsaw Central Station to Łódź Fabryczna - this spring, the train will travel to Łódź in around 1 hour and 6 minutes. This time will be achieved by the IC Esperanto and IC Prząśniczka trains.

Warsaw - Zakopane

From Warsaw Central to Zakopane - EIC Tatry will cover the entire route in approx. 4 hours and 29 minutes after the change in the PKP 2025 timetable.

Warsaw - Przemyśl

From Warsaw Eastern to Przemyśl Central - the journey time on the IC San train will be shortened to approximately 3 hours and 47 minutes. You will also get there faster by getting off at intermediate stations such as Radom, Sandomierz or Rzeszów Główny.

New connections:

Another important adjustment to the PKP 2025 timetable is the addition of new connections:

Gdynia - Warsaw

IC Kuter - a new train between Gdynia Główna and Warszawa Zachodnia, which will run daily in the evening. Departure from Gdynia at 7:32 p.m., arrival in Warsaw Zachodnia at 11:08 p.m. The route includes stops at stations such as Tczew, Malbork and Ciechanów.

Kraków - Warsaw

IC Kinga, Kraków Główny - Warszawa Wschodnia - train departing from Kraków at 6:04, on weekends and holidays will travel on an extended route as far as Olsztyn Główny. It will arrive at Olsztyn station at 12:52, so the journey will take just under seven hours. Between Eastern Warsaw and Olsztyn Główny the train will also stop at: Legionowo, Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, Ciechanów, Mława Miasto, Działdowo, Iława Główny, Ostróda, Olsztyn Zachodni. The first such service will depart on 9 March.

Olsztyn - Racibórz

IC Skarbek between Olsztyn Główny and Racibórz, which departs daily from Olsztyn at 15:33, will have more seats on the Olsztyn - Warsaw section, according to changes in spring 2025. Two trainsets will run juxtaposed on this route. In total, as many as 700 seats will be available.

PKP timetable changes - modifications related to railway modernisations

In addition to new connections and shorter journey times, PKP Intercity also envisages timetable adjustments related to modernisations. The changes to the PKP 2025 timetable will apply to the sections:

Lębork - Słupsk: Due to modernisations on the line from Gdynia to Słupsk, the IC Parsęta train (relation Łódź Fabryczna - Kołobrzeg) will not run on the route. It will be replaced on this section by the IC Lazur train, which has so far only travelled from Łódź Fabryczna to Gdynia Główna.

Gdynia - Kołobrzeg and Kołobrzeg - Gdynia: the IC Słupia train will not travel on these routes. After the PKP timetable has been adjusted, it will run without this section and will end its run in Gdynia Główna.

To Bielsko-Biała: The changes affect the IC Korfanty train (between Warsaw East and Bielsko-Biała Główna) and the IC Daszyński train (between Bielsko-Biała Główna and Białystok). Both of these trainsets will run to or from Gliwice from 9 March 2025, bypassing Bielsko-Biała, Tychy, Pszczyna and Czechowice-Dziedzice stations. Instead, they will stop in Gliwice, Zabrze, Katowice, Chorzów and Ruda Śląska. In order to continue to make travel planning easy for passengers from Silesia wishing to travel on these sections, mutual honouring of PKP Intercity and Silesian Railway tickets has been introduced (only valid in second class and not available on Pendolino trains).

How to prepare for the change in the PKP timetable in 2025?

Now that you know the answer to the question of when the PKP timetable will change, it's time to prepare for it properly. Here's a list of things to look out for before travelling by train this spring:

Checking the current timetable - before travelling, it's a good idea to make sure your itinerary is feasible. It's a good idea not to leave your ticket purchase to the last minute and plan your journeys in advance. By purchasing a ticket on the PolishTrains website even 30 days before departure, you can be sure that a given connection takes into account the most up-to-date changes in the PKP timetable.

Ticket honouring - if you want to plan your itinerary differently due to modernisation changes in Silesia, remember that PKP Intercity and Silesian Railways can travel on one ticket. To check whether your ticket will be honoured for a particular journey, the best way is to check at the information line (e.g. PolishTrains), at the ticket office or with the conductor before the train departure.

More convenient travel options - planning a longer journey with a change of train? Don't forget to take a look at the new connections and routes where journey times are reduced. This may allow you to plan your journey more conveniently with fewer transfers.

Use mobile apps - for a quick and hassle-free way to check the current timetable, buy a ticket and change your travel plans, use the mobile apps available on your phone. Download the PolishTrains app to keep up to date with changes to the PKP timetable and buy tickets in a few simple steps.
