Originally it had a wooden structure, and today's reinforced concrete version dates back to the turn of the 20th and 21st century (the pier as we know it today was fully commissioned in March 2005).

This tourist attraction is located near the local amphitheatre, adjacent to the beach. It is 395 metres long and is regarded as the longest concrete pier in Poland. From the pier, you can admire the Pomeranian Bay and observe the Świnoujście lighthouse. Importantly, entry to the pier is free!

You can also go for a cruise! At the end of the pier, there is a marina from which tourist ships depart for Świnoujście and nearby German towns such as Ahlbeck.

Międzyzdroje Promenade

  • Poznań - passengers travelling from Poznań can book tickets for 1 of 5 trains per day. There are 2 Polregio and 3 PKP Intercity trains departing daily. The fastest connection on this route takes about 3 hours 22 minutes. On the section to Międzyzdroje, trains stop for example in Wronki, Stargard and Szczecin.
  • Przemyśl - PKP Intercity offers one night connection every day. Additionally, there is an additional early morning train on Fridays and Saturdays. The fastest journey time is around 11 hours 19 minutes. The train passes through, among others: Przeworsk, Dębica, Kraków, Katowice, Opole, Wrocław, Zielona Góra and Szczecin.
  • It is also possible to reach Międzyzdroje twice a day from**Warsaw**. PKP Intercity trains leave after 9am and before 11pm. The morning train is the fastest connection and takes about 6 hours 53 minutes. There are many intermediate stations on the Warsaw East - Międzyzdroje route, including: Łowicz, Konin, Września, Poznań, Stargard and Szczecin.

Oceanarium Międzyzdroje

The Oceanarium in Międzyzdroje is a place where on an area of about 3000 m² there are aquaria full of sharks, moray eels, coral reefs and beautiful fish from all over the globe. The most interesting attraction is the 16-metre-long half-tunnel that allows you to feel part of this aquatic space. You will see these beautiful creatures up close, and you can also visit the educational and multimedia room, where you can learn a little more about the inhabitants of the seas and oceans.

The oceanarium can be visited daily. From Sunday to Thursday from 10:00 to 17:00, and on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 to 18:00.

The Miniature Park in Międzyzdroje

Actually, the Baltic Miniature Park in Międzyzdroje is a place where in about 45 minutes you will get to know all the most important places and monuments around the Baltic Sea. During a trip to the Miniature Park, you will walk along a miniature version of the sea coast. You will also see what the coastal strip looks like in other Baltic countries such as Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, and get to know the most important monuments and lighthouses from these areas. Planetarium Międzyzdroje

Międzyzdroje - what to see in the area?

Wolin National Park

A place for the protection of animals and nature, established in 1960. It is located on the Wolin Island, about 7 km from the centre of Międzyzdroje, and covers an area of 10,937 hectares. The park's location makes it biologically diverse and home to many rare and protected animals and plants.

When hiking in the park, you can choose from three trails:

  • Red - the coastal trail
  • Blue - inland, along the shore of the Szczecin Lagoon
  • Green - through picturesque terrain, dense forest and the area around Lake Czajcze

Attractions in the Wolin National Park:

  • Animals - in the park you can admire the bison living in the reserve and look out for the white-tailed eagle, Europe's largest bird of prey which is the symbol of the place.
  • Plants - it is worth visiting the Zalesie Łęgi Nature Reserve, which is home to many aquatic and marsh plants.
  • Lakes - 3 reservoirs are a must-see:

Turquoise Lake is the most famous lake in the Wolin National Park. Its water impresses with its intense turquoise colour, creating a picturesque place that attracts many tourists and provides the perfect backdrop for souvenir photographs.

Lake Czajcze is a real oasis of peace and a habitat for many bird species - a perfect place for ornithology enthusiasts.

Lake Domysłowskie offers excellent conditions for fishing and nature observation.

The Wolin National Park is best visited in the morning or before noon, as you should allow around 4.5 hours for the whole trip. Tickets are sold no later than 5 pm (in the summer season).

Entry fees to the Wolin National Park are symbolic:

  • Normal ticket: 10 PLN
  • Reduced ticket: 5 PLN
  • Family ticket (2+2): 25 zł
  • Additionally, temporary tickets are available, e.g. weekend or 7-day tickets.

Nature Museum of the Wolin National Park

This is an attraction associated with the Wolin National Park, located in the centre of Międzyzdroje. It is a place presenting the rich nature and ecosystem of this national park. Thanks to the exhibitions, you can admire the fauna and flora of the Wolin Island and gain a lot of interesting information about the park itself. The exhibitions also play an educational role, bringing closer the importance of nature conservation and the uniqueness of the Wolin National Park.

The museum can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday from 8:00 to 15:30.

Tickets are priced - 10 PLN normal and 7 PLN concessionary. A combined ticket is also available (25 PLN concessionary and 35 PLN normal), which allows you to enter the museum, the national park and visit the Bison enclosure.

European bison show enclosure

The bison show enclosure is certainly the perfect answer to the question "Międzyzdroje, what to see in the area?". It is a place you can discover by traversing the Wolin National Park along the green hiking trail. The homestead is only a 30-minute walk from the centre of Międzyzdroje! The entire local bison enclosure extends over 28 hectares, of which 0.5 hectares is a show enclosure.

It is worth knowing that bison breeding in this area has been continuous since 1977 and is considered an important element of bison conservation. The bison show enclosure itself not only serves as a tourist attraction, but also has an educational dimension, as it enables visitors to learn more about these remarkable animals and their nature.

Opening hours:

  • April to October: daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • From October to April: Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The entrance ticket to the enclosure costs PLN 16 (concessionary) or PLN 20 (normal). Additionally, it is possible to purchase a combined ticket which allows entrance to the park and the Wolin National Park Natural History Museum.

Kawcza Góra

Fancy more active relaxation? A visit to the top of Kawcza Góra is a must! This hill forms part of the Wolin National Park and is the highest point on the entire island of Wolin.

Kawcza Góra rises 61 metres above sea level, from where you can admire the beautiful panorama of the Pomeranian Bay. The best vantage point, located above the cliff at 56.9 metres above sea level, is easily accessible - wooden steps lead to it directly from the beach. An additional attraction in the area are the bunkers left over from World War II.

Gosań Hill

This place is located about 4 km north of Międzyzdroje. The hill belongs to the Wolin National Park and is considered a unique place on the Polish coast - it is the highest cliff on the Baltic Sea, measuring 93 metres above sea level.

It is an excellent place for a family excursion. The route from the nearby car park to the summit is just 0.5 km along a road with a gentle ascent. What's more, even on a warmer day, the journey will not be tiring, as a path leads all the way to the summit through a forest whose trees provide shade.
