EC1 Łódź - City of Culture (and other Łódź attractions)

EC1 Łódź is a unique cultural and educational centre, which in winter becomes one of the most interesting places to visit in the Łódź region - regardless of the weather outside. Located in former power station buildings, it allows interactive entertainment for the whole family, offering a range of attractions: The Planetarium, which transports visitors to outer space through state-of-the-art projections, and the Science and Technology Centre with interactive exhibitions allowing visitors to discover the secrets of physics, chemistry and technology.

During the winter holidays in 2026 you will have time to see the fascinating temporary exhibition "EC1 Łódź. City from-new", which shows how the city of Łódź has changed over the decades. If you value education "served" in an extremely accessible and interesting way, you cannot miss this place.

While strolling around the complex, you can admire the beautifully restored buildings and relax in one of the cafés or eat something tasty in the on-site restaurant. An additional advantage? The proximity of the Łódź Fabryczna railway station makes it easy to get to EC1 for tourists from all over the voivodeship and other regions of Poland - it is only 2 km away, which you can easily cover on foot or by public transport (just take bus 86 at the station and get off at the Familia Poznańska - Łódź Fabryczna railway station stop).

And when you go on holiday to Łódź, be sure to take advantage of the workshops for children organised in the city. For example, MONOsfera Kreatywności (60a Dr. Stefan Kopcińskiego Street) offers chess classes and a course in LEGO robotics and programming - GO4Robot.

In addition, the Warsztatkowo centre (ul. Białostocka 7c) offers sensory and musical workshops, priced at PLN 60 per session. This is a great opportunity for children to develop their interests and learn new skills in a creative and inspiring atmosphere.

Załęczański Landscape Park

Załęczański Landscape Park is located in the north-western part of the Łódzkie Voivodeship, on the border with the Silesian and Opolskie Voivodeships. If you are nature lovers and winter walkers with the whole family, this is the perfect place for you!

The park, encompassing the picturesque Warta Valley, captivates with its diverse landscapes. Forests, meadows and river meanders create fairytale-like scenery, inviting you to wander and observe nature closely.

Numerous nature trails and footpaths are suitable for family walks and, if you are lucky, you may spot wild animals or admire their tracks.

It is also worth visiting the Snake Nature Reserve located within the park (here you can see unique rock formations and caves), as well as the viewpoints of Pomegranate Springs and Mount Saint Genevieve.

How to get to Załęczański Landscape Park? The best way is by train to Pątnów Wieluński station, and from there by bus to the village of Kamion, which is located on the border of the forest complex. From there, it is worth taking a walk of about two hours to reach the Snake Nature Reserve. Just remember to plan your trip for the morning hours - it gets dark quickly in late February and early March. The PolishTrains service can help you organise your trip.

Museum in Łowicz and open-air museum in Maurzyce

If you don't yet know what to do during the winter holidays, Łódzkie 2026 will offer you quite a few attractions.

One of them is the Skansen in Maurzyce, located near Łowicz. This is a unique place - it literally transports visitors into the world of the former Łowicz village. The traditional wooden cottages look like they have been taken out of a postcard! From 01.11 to 31.03, the open-air museum is only open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10.00 to 15.30, and the buildings can be viewed from the outside. A walking ticket is then required, which costs 8 zł.

Another noteworthy place to visit during a visit to the area is the Łowicz Museum, located in the Old Market Square, where you can see permanent exhibitions with Baroque art in Poland, objects illustrating the history of the city and the whole region. The exhibitions Ethnography of the Duchy of Łowicz and the Chamber of Memory of the Łowicz Jews are also worth a visit. There is also an open-air museum next to the museum, but its buildings, like those in Maurzyce, can only be visited from the outside (there is also a walking ticket, here it costs 7 zł).

How to get to these fascinating places? The ideal choice is the railway - from Łowicz Główny station it is less than a kilometre to the museum in the old town. You can get to Maurzyce by train on the Łódź Agglomeration Railway (get off at Niedźwiada Łowicka station). However, if you decide to take the car, you can get here via the A2 motorway (e.g. from Warsaw it is less than 100 km, and from Poznań about 250 km).
