IC 1644 Łużyce train – route and timetable
IC 1644 Łużyce is an InterCity train operated by PKP Intercity from Warszawa Wschodnia to Zgorzelec. The route has 22 stops and runs through, among others, Warszawa Centralna, Koluszki, Częstochowa Stradom, Oława and Bolesławiec, with the entire journey taking over six hours.
Such a long route is particularly useful for journeys involving a change from one connection to another – a passenger boarding at Koluszki or Częstochowa Stradom has a chance to plan the next part of the journey before setting off by checking connections further west in the PolishTrains search engine. The IC category means a standard between TLK and Pendolino trains, providing greater comfort than on cheaper routes.
Tickets for IC 1644 start at several dozen zloty, with the standard IC Intercity category being the cheapest. A ticket in a higher category, such as EIP Pendolino on part of the route, may cost several times more. After purchasing a ticket through PolishTrains, passengers receive it immediately on their phone by SMS or in the app, so they do not need to print anything before going to the platform.
From Warszawa Wschodnia station, most tickets are sold 1–3 days before departure, with sales peaking in August. If travel plans change, it is worth remembering that a ticket returned through PolishTrains is settled online, without the need to visit a ticket office.
