Jagiełło train – routes and services
Jagiełło is an IC-category train running between Lublin Główny and Kraków Główny in both directions every day. Two services run under this name, one in each direction. An intercity train means a higher standard of travel than regional trains.
The route connects two large cities, so it works both for business travel and a weekend trip – the fastest option takes over four hours. You can check the available seat classes for the Jagiełło train before purchase in the PolishTrains search engine.
The ticket price mainly depends on the class and the purchase date – PolRegio is the cheapest category, while IC Intercity is the most expensive, with the difference reaching several times the price. Passengers departing from Lublin Główny most often buy a ticket one to three days before travelling, while sales from this station peak in August, as shown by the higher traffic during these holiday weeks. PolishTrains allows you to buy a ticket for Jagiełło without creating an account; you only need to provide an email address to receive the ticket in the app or by SMS.
Of the departures from Lublin Główny, the vast majority, 91 per cent, are IC Intercity trains, with only a small proportion operated by PolRegio. This predominance explains why the standard and facilities in the carriages on the route to Kraków can be better than on shorter regional connections. You can arrange a refund or exchange your ticket for another date online on PolishTrains, as well as pay the surcharge for transporting a dog, which you can add at the purchase stage.
