Bystrzyca train – routes and services
Bystrzyca is the name given to IC-category services that connect Rzeszów Główny with Bydgoszcz Główna every day, as well as Lublin Główny with Hrubieszów Miasto and onwards to Bydgoszcz. Four trains run under this name, providing a regular connection between eastern and central Poland. It is a typical Intercity train, without a Pendolino or PolRegio service on the same route.
The route suits people travelling longer inter-regional distances, where one connecting train is preferable to several shorter sections. It is worth checking the current timetable before travelling, as although the train runs daily, departure times may change with timetable revisions – in the PolishTrains search engine, you will see current information about changes to the route before heading to the station.
The ticket price for Bystrzyca depends on the selected seat category in the Intercity train, with price differences resulting mainly from the carriage class. Passengers departing from Rzeszów most often buy tickets a week or several days before travelling. A considerable proportion only decide to buy on the day of departure. The peak in sales from Rzeszów is in August, during the period of increased holiday traffic.
To reserve a specific seat, for example a window seat, it is worth booking in advance – you can make this reservation on PolishTrains during the ticket purchase process. PolishTrains guides you through the entire purchasing process, from choosing the route to choosing a seat, without requiring you to create an account.
