PKP Katowice – Zabrze. Train timetable

The Katowice – Zabrze route is one of the key lines in Silesian Voivodeship. This section is particularly popular among commuters and those travelling within the Silesian conurbation. Thanks to trains operating on this route, you can travel quickly, without unnecessary stress and traffic jams.

Choosing PKP as your transport, the Katowice – Zabrze timetable provides 28 direct connections on weekdays operated by PKP Intercity. Among them are TLK, IC and EIP Pendolino trains. In each of these trains you can choose to travel in the more economical class 2 or in class 1. This journey differs in travel comfort and carriage facilities.

The route is very short, as the Katowice – Zabrze train runs fastest in 13 minutes. The slowest train, **[IC Sudety](##BRAK## takes 5 minutes longer.

On the PKP Katowice – Zabrze route, the ticket price depends of course on your choice of carriage class, but also on the type of train.

• On TLK and IC trains in class 2 you will pay PLN 19 for a ticket at the standard fare, whilst class 1 will cost PLN 29.
• A much more expensive option is travel on EIP Pendolino, where a ticket in class 2 costs PLN 56 and in class 1 PLN 93.

Since the starting station is the largest railway station in Silesian Voivodeship, on the Katowice – Zabrze PKP route you can buy a ticket at ticket offices or ticket machines. Both ticket offices and machines are open 24 hours. Tickets can also be purchased conveniently online, for example through the PolishTrains app, where current timetables and carrier regulations are also available.

If you want to travel on the Katowice – Zabrze line, this route may surprise you if you are not familiar with the area. You will search in vain for many stops here. The vast majority of connections run direct from Katowice to Zabrze, not stopping anywhere else along the way. The exceptions are trains:

• **[IC Siemiradzki,](##BRAK## which departs from Katowice at 19:00.
• **[IC Wyczółkowski](##BRAK## – departing from Katowice station at 10:41.

These trains stop en route at one intermediate station, Chorzów Batory. Travel on these trains is therefore somewhat longer, although this is a difference of around 2 minutes.
