Italy is a such a beautiful place, therefore it is the best to visit it more than once. How can it be done? The best way to do that is to take the high-speed trains.

The Italian high-speed railway

If you really care about time and comfort, take high-speed trains that provide connections between big cities. They run as fast as 300 km/h. The infrastructure allows them to increase the speed up to 400 km/h in the future.

The types of high-speed trains are as follows Frecciarossa, Frecciabianca and Frecciargento. They differ in quality and technology, although their routes intersects. In pursuit of connections search, in the north of Italy, it is very likely that you may come across of all them.

The Frecciargento train

Frecciargento trains running at 250 km/h. They run among Venice and Verona to Rome, Bari and Reggio di Calabria. They run along the shorter routes than Frecciarossa trains. The journey is provided both on high-speed trains and traditional ones. The Frecciargento trains are the best choice for those valuing time and comfort on the go. You may choose to travel in the first or second class.

The second class is called the Seconda Classe, while the first class is called the Primera Classe. The first class differs from the second class and is equipped with the leather reclining chairs, free newspapers, greeting drink and free snacks. The first class passengers are greeted with a cold or hot beverages and the Italian style snacks. Every traveller has access to the bar/bistro car, located in the centre of the service, where you may enjoy your travel treating yourself with hot and cold drinks, sandwiches or snacks.

Each Frecciargento train is equipped with the air-conditioning and powers supply sockets. Toilettes are located in every car (two in the first class cars). At the Rome – Venice routes the services are equipped with the LCD displays thanks to which a passenger is constantly informed on the most recent offers and services. There are also displays where you are informed on the journey progress, you may watch the news or films. Each seat is equipped with a lamp. Equally important is the fact that there is space available on the train for large luggage in the vestibules of the cars.

a train leaves every hour, everyday between 6:00 and 19:00, connecting Rome and Venice, where from you may continue your journey to Udine, Triest or Salerno, for example

4 trains run between Rome and Verona every hour in the rush hours, thanks to which you may travel on to Brescia, Trento or Bolzano

6 trains connect Rome and Lecce, and 2 others run from Rome to Reggio di Calabria and stop in the main cities of Apulia and Calabria

Big Family - valid for all types of trains
The presence of at least 2 passengers is required. Each passenger needs to show their own Large Family Card during the ticket inspection. The "Large Family Card" discount is combinable with other legal benefits.
Cheaper with Closest - valid on Intercity and TLK trains
To take advantage of the discount, 2 to 6 people should be present during the trip. The "Cheaper with Family" offer can be combined with 33%, 37%, 51%, 78%, 95% or 100% discounts.
Family Ticket - valid on EIP (Pendolino) and EIC trains
There should be from 2 to 5 travelers, including one child under the age of 16, in order to apply the discount. The "Family Ticket" offer cannot be combined with other statutory discounts.
